\nBushing material
\nThe bushing will normally be
\nbronze alloy or reinforced PTFE
\ndepending on the application.
\nMotors
\nTEFC, washdown duty and
\nexplosion proof motors are
\navailable as standard. Inverter
\nrated, stainless steel and
\nother motors are available as
\noptional extras.
\nMounting
\nModels BX up to GX can be
\nmounted on mobile hydraulic
\nfloor stands. Alternatively they
\ncan be supplied with either a
\nrectangular or circular flange for
\nmounting on the vessel.
\nTri-clamp mounting is also
\navailable. Larger machines
\n(Model 700X and above) require
\nvessel mounting.
\nSealing
\nAll Silverson Batch mixers are
\ndesigned for operation in open
\nvessels. Single and double
\nmechanical shaft sealing for
\noperation under vacuum and\/or
\npositive pressure is available for
\nmost machines.
\nCleaning
\nThe machines are in most
\ncases self-cleaning, a short run
\nbetween successive operations
\nin water, detergent or an
\nappropriate solvent being all that
\nis necessary. For more thorough
\ncleaning, dismantling is easy and
\ndowntime minimal.

\nThe Duplex was specifically
\ndeveloped for the disintegration
\nand solubilization of solid
\nrubbers and polymers for the
\nluboil and adhesive industries,
\nbut its success has now seen

\nof mixing, whether chemical,
\npharmaceutical or food.
\nThe Duplex differs from the
\nstandard multipurpose batch
\nmixers in having two workheads
\nfacing in opposite directions; the
\nupper head pulls material down
\nfrom the surface of the mix, while
\nthe lower head draws material
\nup from the base of the vessel.
\nThe combined use of two
\nworkheads makes the Duplex
\nideal for applications where light
\nor buoyant material (powders,
\nrubbers and polymers, etc.)
\nneeds to be drawn down from
\nthe surface of a mix and rapidly
\ndispersed. Because of the
\nadded movement afforded by
\nthe two workheads, the Duplex
\nis also ideal for use on high
\nviscosity materials.
